The remastered Beatles tracks surfaced on a private BitTorrent tracker over the long weekend, according to BigChampagne. They then inevitably spread to publicly available torrent trackers such as.

Regarding the 5.1 mixes: LOVE was a reinvention that was literally a soundtrack to a Las Vegas circus. Not only did the nature of the project allow for experimentation, but it’s designed for an amphitheater specifically engineered for that live show. Pepper, MMT, YS.I liken those surround mixes to the Pink Floyd DSOTM and WYWH modern surround mixes.

Very loyal to the original stereo mixes, perhaps to not outrage certain fans, but a huge enveloping sound for dudes in their man caves. Are they Steven Wilson-level mixes?

Definitely not the way they’re mastered. But I do enjoy them very much and have listened to them a lot recently. *I cannot defend those out of sync drums at the end of EDAY from 1+!

I prefer Naked over the Spector LIB, but I agree with beatleroadie, it only makes sense that the Anniversary release uses the original album as the basis for the remix. Naked was a different album altogether: Different takes in many cases, different edits, even different track list (superior to the original, IMO). The anniversary remix should take the original as model, meaning the same track list and takes.

Now, would it be fair that Giles decides to leave the Spector strings and choirs out, as a remixing decision? IMO, no (and this coming from someone who thinks those overdubs were a mistake). Those overdubs are part of the album they are supposed to commemorate. The remix should be recognisable in relation to the original album, just with updated sound and different stereo layout (I would find acceptable that the Spector overdubs are reduced in level, for example, as long as they are still there). However, that wouldn't undermine the role of LIB Naked in the history of this project.

In fact, I think they should include it in the box set, even if it's in a Blu-ray. And it would be a perfect occasion to remaster it and remove the NR that plagues it. Actually, we already have Yellow Submarine Songtrack, with the four songs (and then some!) remixed. They should just re-release that with an additional Blu-ray including Hi-res, 5.1, and outtakes. In May 1968, just back from India, the group gathered at George’s bungalow in Esher (pronounced “Ee-sher”) to tape unplugged versions of the new songs they’d already stockpiled for the new album. Over the next days, working together or solo, they busked 27 songs. The tapes sat in a suitcase in George’s house for years. Seven tracks came out on Anthology 3; others have never been released in any Beatle version, including John’s “Child of Nature” and George’s “Sour Milk Sea.” The Esher tapes alone make this collection essential, with a fresh homemade intimacy that’s unique. Martin says, “They’re rough takes, but spiritually, the performances stand on their own. I bought this CD at a Record Fair in England in 1992. The Beatles Unsurpassed Demos 1991 Yellow Dog 008 has 24/27 songs.

Click to expand.I believe there are two views - the first is that most of the content stays 'up front' like stereo, and reverb or crowd noise or subtle bits fill surrounds to create a 'you are there' kind of feel. The other view is that stuff should come at you from all around, whether it's natural or not, like guitars and harmony vocals from behind you.
