Audi Mmi 5570 3cd Set 4l0 998 961
Hi I'm away to update my MMI from the version referenced in the title (this was displayed on MMI screen when I checked version) and am looking for a bit of reassurance & guidance before I start. I've already got the 4L0 998 961 disc but it won't update using this - I'm assuming I need some or all of the earlier update discs. I've ordered 4E0 906 961 L, 4E0 906 961 T, 4E0 906 961 AA & 4F0 906 961 AB from the dealer.
I believe this gives me the full compliment of available discs (used this website for reference: Didn't mind paying for them - I think it cost about a tenner for the whole lot. Does anyone know which disc I should be starting from, or is the MMI 'smart' enough to know which ones to not update from - i.e. If it only needs 4F0 906 961 AB & then 4L0 998 961 will it ignore attempts to update from earlier discs? Any help greatly appreciated Thanks. Just a progress report on the MMI update; System steadfastly refused to update with the discs I had.turned out I was missing one update disc - 4E0 906 961 H. Once I got a hold of that one the update went fine. I know at some point I could probably have missed out a couple of discs and gone straight to the latest one (4L0 998 961) but I erred on the side of caution and patiently ran through all 5 of them one by one - granted it took about 2-1/2hrs, but I now have 5570 and have my AMI system up & running.
Spoke to my local dealer and they've said they never never heard of the 5570 update for MMI. Link above 4L0 998 961 and that wouldn't come up on the system.
Very happy man!! It's online here once you register.
Or you can buy the original CD from TPS for about £6 I can confirm the download from there works perfectly fine, since the source of the ISO is me. It took me quiet a lot of searching to track down that disc as I was in the same boat and needed to update to 1100 before 5570. The site is operated by an A8parts forum member.
Once you get to 1100 you can go straight to the three CDs for 5570 with no need to go through the others incrementally. Many thanks to Manny for coming to my aid.
I actually went to Poole Audi to ask them to do this upgrade for me so they could take care of any issues that came up during the upgrade (like component protection). They didn't get back to me for 3 days so when I called they just wanted the car for a day to hook it up to diagnostics and send info away to Audi technical to ask them what to do. I wasn't willing to pay £60 plus just for this.
So this morning I followed the official Audi update notes to the letter and an hour and half later my MMI is now at 1110 and all 5 components took new boot loaders and apps. (Left the engine running for the whole procedure because I had no idea if my battery charger would provide adequate amperage. Everything appears to have upgraded fine but I don't seem to be able to get the adaptive air suspension control on the MMI.
So I probably need to Google that issue and get my VCDS cable out. I still have the 3 latest CDs to install but my heart can't take any more worry today (It was quite scary thinking it could all flamingo-up). I am an embedded software developer and know how important it is not to interrupt the updates under any circumstances - but when updates don[t progress as expected - how long is too long? Thanks again Manny, a great help Cheers David.

Hi, I'm about to collect my new (well new for me it's an 07 plate) Audi A6 Avant 3.0 TDI SE Quattro today. I noted when i went out for the test drive the MMI didn't have amongst other things the nice graphic when reverse parking. Im guessing this means its in need of an MMI update. I know you can get the CDs from the dealer (part 4L0 998 961 - ordered) for the latest version (5570). I understand it's basically a case of doing each CD in turn to apply the updates to all the components.

Mine has MMI High with parking sensors, heated seats, dual climate, air suspension, DAB radio, AMi, 6 disk changer, Bluetooth. Are there any gotchas for doing this myself? I was planning on just sitting there with the engine running and working through each disk. I understand that post update some things 'disappear' such as the battery meter and require VCDS to re-enable, So basically if anyone has done an A6/C6 MMI update and had advice, please share! Also if anyone has VCDS and is local to Leicester or nearby and can 'turn on' the missing items post MMI update that would be great too. Always nervous applying these things so any update advice appreciated (or local VCDS specialists!) thanks. I guess Sunnybard is probably the closest person to me (and it looks like they have a similar vehicle).
